DESCRIPTION
Coyote Hills Regional Park is located in Fremont. Coyote Hills offers 360-deree views of the Bay. On clear days, Oakland and San Francisco skylines are visible as well as Mt. Tamalpais and the Santa Cruz Mountains. We will also enjoy spectacular views of the East Bay Hills, the marshlands and the Dumbarton Bridge.
Hike Description:
Start Time: 10:30 a.m.
Distance: 5.4 mi
Elevation Gain: 292ft
Elevation: 230ft
Difficulty Level: Beginners with some hiking experience due to distance
Pace: approximately 2 miles per hour
Duration: 2-3 hours
Meeting Place: Visitor Center’s Parking Lot
Parking: $5 per vehicle
The trail offers no shade. Please use sunblock and wear a hat. There are some moderate climbs and descends, but they are short. The trail is mostly flat. You will encounter poison oak so be prepared and cautious.
Driving Directions:
From CA 84 in Fremont exit Paseo Padre Parkway/Thornton Avenue and go north. Turn left onto Patterson Ranch Road. Pay the parking fee and drive to the end of the road near the Visitor Center.
Bring plenty of water and snacks.
Hiking Essentials: water, snacks, lip balm, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect/tick repellent, layered clothing, hat, hiking shoes/boots, and map.

Directions to the restaurant:
Exit Coyote Hills park and turn right on Paseo Padre Parkway. Take 84 east (away from Dumbarton Bridge) and get on 880 south. Exit Stevenson Blvd and turn left. Turn right on Fremont Blvd and stay on your right lane. Fremont Blvd runs into a fork intersection in front of Burger King. Stay on the right lane and make a soft right. A sharp right will take you into Bay Street and away from the restaurant. Don’t go left at the fork’s intersection. The road becomes Washington Blvd.
