Organizational Objective/Purpose:

The International Marketing team, as part of Schwab Retail Marketing and Client Acquisition, is responsible for all marketing activities to drive the growth of international business, across Asia, Europe, and Latin America/Caribbean. The team is tasked with designing and optimizing client experience for international clients; driving tradeoff decisions and priorities to enhance the experience; developing the marketing strategy; creating and communicating marketing requirements to agencies/channels; and executing and managing all marketing communications and all aspects of the marketing mix that meet client needs and ensure compliance with various regulations.

Brief Description of Role:

The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for all International client development initiatives, and has an additional focus on developing and supporting Schwab’s Latin American business.  At a minimum, the Senior Manager will:

-          Analyze International client behavior and needs, drawing actionable conclusions

-          Develop and maintain direct marketing programs, promotional & loyalty programs, etc. that maximize International client awareness of and engagement with Schwab products and services

-          Develop direct marketing initiatives, promotional & loyalty programs that drive loyalty and satisfaction among these clients, leading to increased new business, profitability, and new client referrals to Schwab

-          Coordinate with and leverage International Local Marketing and International Marketing Collateral functions for support in delivering client development initiatives

-          Serving as client & channel expert for client contact teams and other stakeholders, performing competitive research, and providing reporting on communications response, product usage, and other key metrics associated with this area

-          Participate in setting strategic marketing direction, including development of international marketing plan as well as marketing strategies for specific products and business initiatives

-          Ensure effective implementation in online, offline etc. channels as relevant by creating business requirements, project plans and creative briefs, setting and monitoring performance to appropriate goals, and leading or participating in project meetings as necessary

-          Work closely with Schwab’s Latin America Center to identify and execute marketing comprehensive campaigns and ad hoc marketing activities, local partnerships and sponsorships, cultivation of key business development targets, etc.

-          Work closely with internal business partners in other Schwab Client Experience, Central Marketing, International Sales & Service, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Platform Services, etc. teams to execute marketing strategies

Technical/Functional Qualifications:

-          BA required, MBA highly preferred

-          Minimum of six years marketing experience required; including a blend of marketing, project management and analytical experience

-          Spanish language required – reading and writing

-          Ability to work cross-functionally and to communicate and partner effectively with field and headquarter organizations

-          Experience with managing multiple projects across multiple channels simultaneously

-          Strong and intuitive focus on the client’s experience / perspective as demonstrated in track record of work accomplishments

-          Track record of developing & rolling out effective marketing communications

-          Strong analytical skills, including transforming raw data into actionable client insight

-          Strong verbal and written communication skills

-          Knowledge of and experience in development of Latin American markets
